Synopsis/Plot
Belfast is a powerful, hard-hitting drama that follows the lives of two individuals in Northern Ireland in the early 1990s.
Set in Belfast, the film follows the story of two people: Michael, a Catholic, and Jean, a Protestant. Michael is a young man from a poor Catholic family who works as a taxi driver, while Jean is a Protestant woman from a wealthy background.
The two meet while Michael is driving Jean around town, and they quickly form a bond. However, their relationship is complicated by the sectarian violence that has long been a part of life in Northern Ireland. Michael and Jean must navigate the tensions between their communities, while also struggling to keep their relationship alive in the face of danger.
The film is a powerful and emotional exploration of the conflict in Northern Ireland, and the effects it has on the people who live there.
