Synopsis/Plot
Beethoven is a 1992 American family comedy film directed by Brian Levant and starring Charles Grodin and Bonnie Hunt. It is the first installment in the Beethoven film series.
The film follows the Newton family, who adopt a St. Bernard dog named Beethoven, who soon grows too big for his new home. The family must then deal with the antics caused by the huge dog, such as chasing the mailman, destroying the house, and falling in love with a female St. Bernard.
The family’s veterinarian, Dr. Varnick, is revealed to be a mad scientist who is using animals in cruel experiments. He kidnaps Beethoven in order to use him in his experiments, but the Newton family, aided by their neighbor, Ted, rescue him.
Beethoven is a heartwarming family comedy that follows the adventures of the Newton family and their beloved St. Bernard, Beethoven. With its slapstick humor and endearing characters, Beethoven is sure to bring a smile to your face.
