Synopsis/Plot

Bedknobs and Broomsticks is a 1971 musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions. It stars Angela Lansbury as Eglantine Price, an apprentice witch who enlists the help of three children and a charming conman to help her find a magical bedknob that can be used to transport them to a magical island. Along the way, they must also battle Nazi forces and the villainous Professor Emelius Browne, who is searching for the same magical bedknob.

The film follows Eglantine Price and the three children, Charlie, Carrie, and Paul, as they travel across England in search of the bedknob. Along the way, they meet a variety of characters, including Miss Price’s old teacher, Professor Emelius Browne, who has been searching for the bedknob himself. They also encounter a mysterious stranger, Mr. Browne’s former assistant, Mr. Jelk, who is also searching for the bedknob.

The film is a mixture of live-action and animation, with the animation sequences featuring a variety of animals, including a talking rabbit and a singing fish. The musical score was composed by the Sherman Brothers, and includes the Academy Award-winning song
