Synopsis/Plot
Bedazzled is a 2000 comedy film directed by Harold Ramis and starring Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley. The film follows Elliot Richards (Fraser), a socially awkward, down-on-his-luck computer programmer who is desperate to win the affections of his co-worker Allison (Fraser). After a chance encounter with the Devil (Hurley), Elliot makes a deal with her – in exchange for seven wishes, he will give up his soul. However, the Devil twists his wishes in unexpected ways, and Elliot must learn to take responsibility for his actions and make his own decisions.
The film is a remake of the 1967 British film of the same name. It follows Elliot as he attempts to use his wishes to gain wealth, power, and the love of Allison. His wishes are all granted, but not in the way he expects, and he soon discovers that the Devil has her own agenda. As Elliot goes through the various scenarios, he learns to appreciate life and the importance of making his own decisions.
