Synopsis/Plot
Beasts of No Nation is a powerful and emotionally intense drama about a young African boy, Agu, who is forced to become a child soldier in an unnamed West African country. The film follows Agu as he is forced to join a unit of guerrilla fighters led by a warlord known as the Commandant. As Agu is indoctrinated into the brutal life of a child soldier, he struggles to maintain his sense of morality and his own identity in the midst of the chaos and violence of war.
The film is directed by Cary Fukunaga and stars Idris Elba as the Commandant and newcomer Abraham Attah as Agu. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala and was shot on location in Ghana.
