Synopsis – What to Expect from “Beaches”
Beaches is a 1988 drama film starring Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey. The movie follows the lifelong friendship between two women, CC Bloom (Midler) and Hillary Whitney (Hershey). CC is a brash, outgoing singer and Hillary is a reserved, conservative lawyer.
The two meet as children at the beach and quickly become best friends. As they grow older, their lives take them in very different directions. CC becomes a successful singer and Hillary becomes a lawyer. Despite their different paths, the two remain close friends and rely on each other for support.
When CC begins to experience health problems, she turns to Hillary for help. Hillary is able to provide her with the medical care she needs and the two renew their friendship.
The movie follows CC and Hillary as they struggle to maintain their friendship despite their differences. They face a number of obstacles, including CC’s health problems, Hillary’s career ambitions, and a love triangle between CC, Hillary, and a man named John.
Throughout the movie, the two women learn to accept and appreciate each other’s differences, and their friendship is strengthened. In the end, the two women are able to overcome their differences and remain close friends.
