Synopsis/Plot
Battle for the Planet of the Apes is a 1973 science fiction film directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Roddy McDowall, Claude Akins, Natalie Trundy, Severn Darden, and John Huston. The film is the fifth and final in the original Planet of the Apes series.
The story begins with the ape leader, Caesar, ruling over a peaceful ape kingdom. However, a group of human survivors led by a Colonel (John Huston) have emerged from the ruins of the destroyed city and are determined to take back the planet. The Colonel and his men threaten to destroy the ape kingdom, and Caesar must find a way to protect his people.
At the same time, a group of mutant humans, led by Governor Kolp (Severn Darden), have been living in the ruins of the city and are determined to take back the planet from the apes. Kolp and his mutant humans have developed a powerful weapon that could destroy the ape kingdom.
Caesar and his people must now face the two forces in a battle for the planet. The apes must use their strength and intelligence to survive the onslaught of the humans and mutants. In the end, Caesar must make
