Synopsis/Plot
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is a 2000 direct-to-video animated film featuring the DC Comics superhero Batman. It is a sequel to the 1999 television series Batman Beyond, and is set approximately 30 years after the original series.
The movie follows Terry McGinnis, the new Batman of Neo-Gotham City, as he battles an old nemesis from the past: The Joker. After the Joker resurfaces from a long absence, he begins to wreak havoc on the city, and it’s up to Terry to stop him. With the help of Bruce Wayne, the original Batman, Terry must find a way to stop the Joker before it’s too late.
The film features a darker tone than the original series, with more violence and mature themes. It also features an all-star voice cast, including Mark Hamill reprising his role as the Joker, and Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne.
The story is full of action, suspense, and intrigue, as Terry and Bruce battle the Joker and his mysterious new allies. With the fate of Neo-Gotham City at stake, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is an exciting and thrilling film.
