Synopsis/Plot
Barbarella is a 1968 science fiction film directed by Roger Vadim and starring Jane Fonda as the title character. The film is based on the French comic series of the same name by Jean-Claude Forest. Set in the year 40,000, Barbarella follows the intergalactic adventures of the titular character as she searches for the evil scientist Durand-Durand in the distant Tau Ceti system.
The movie begins with Barbarella crash-landing on the planet Lythion and quickly meeting a group of rebels led by Pygar, the last of the ornithanthropes, who is trying to overthrow the oppressive regime of the Great Tyrant. With the help of Pygar and his rebel forces, Barbarella fights off the oppressive forces of the Great Tyrant and eventually makes her way to the city of Sogo, where she is tasked with finding and stopping the evil scientist Durand-Durand.
On her journey, Barbarella encounters a host of strange and wonderful creatures, including the Angel of the Metaphysical, a robotic angel with a lust for human flesh, and the Excessive Machine, a machine designed to give pleasure to its victims until they die from exhaustion
