Synopsis/Plot
Bandits is a 2001 crime comedy film directed by Barry Levinson and starring Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Cate Blanchett. The film follows two bank robbers, Joe (Willis) and Terry (Thornton), who are on the run from the law. The two become unlikely friends and decide to embark on a cross-country road trip, robbing banks and making headlines along the way.
The story begins when Joe and Terry are released from prison after serving time for bank robbery. They quickly find themselves in trouble again when they are caught trying to rob a bank in Oregon. In order to evade the law, the two decide to flee to Mexico, but their plan is derailed after they meet Kate (Blanchett), a bored housewife who is looking for excitement and adventure. Kate decides to join Joe and Terry on their road trip, and the three become a team of bandits, stealing money from banks across the country and becoming minor celebrities in the process.
