Synopsis – What to Expect from “Banana Split”
Banana Split follows April (Hannah Marks), a high school senior about to embark on her first year of college. She’s been best friends with her two closest pals, Clara (Dylan Gelula) and Nick (Luke Spencer Roberts), since childhood. But when Nick starts dating Clara, April is left feeling adrift and out of place. In an effort to make the best of things, April decides to move in with the couple and take on the role of the “third wheel.”
At first, the trio’s arrangement works out surprisingly well. April and Nick become even closer, bonding over their shared love of music and art. But as their friendship deepens, April finds herself developing romantic feelings for Nick. Despite her best efforts to keep them in check, April’s feelings continue to grow.
Meanwhile, Clara starts to feel threatened by April’s presence and becomes increasingly jealous of the bond that she and Nick share. As tensions between the three of them mount, April must figure out a way to keep her friendship with Clara intact, while also navigating her complicated feelings for Nick.
Banana Split is a heartfelt and honest look at the complexities of teenage relationships and the power of friendship. With its witty dialogue and relatable characters, it’s a coming-of-age story that will resonate with viewers of all ages.
