Synopsis – What to Expect from “Bad Country”
Bad Country is an action-packed crime-thriller set in the backwoods of Louisiana. The movie follows the story of Baton Rouge detective Bud Carter (Willem Dafoe) who is tasked with tracking down a notorious criminal, Jesse Weiland (Matt Dillon).
Jesse has been wreaking havoc on the city with his criminal activities and Bud is determined to put an end to it. With the help of his partner, Detective Amy Pascal (Amy Smart), Bud begins to investigate Jesse’s dealings. As they get closer to catching him, Bud discovers that Jesse is part of a much larger criminal organization that has been operating in the area for years.
Bud and Amy enlist the help of a former criminal, Sonny (Tom Berenger), to help them take down Jesse and his organization. Sonny leads them to a secluded cabin in the woods where Jesse and his crew are hiding out. Bud and Amy are able to sneak into the cabin and take down the criminals, but the situation quickly turns violent when Jesse’s men start shooting.
Meanwhile, Bud’s investigation has caught the attention of a powerful drug lord, Salazar (Neal McDonough), who is determined to stop Bud and his team from taking down his organization. Salazar sends his men to take out Bud and Amy, but they are able to escape.
With the help of Sonny, Bud and Amy are able to track down Jesse and his men and apprehend them.
