Synopsis – What to Expect from “Assault on Precinct 13”
Assault on Precinct 13 is a 1976 action thriller directed by John Carpenter. It stars Austin Stoker, Darwin Joston, and Laurie Zimmer.
The movie takes place in the fictional city of Anderson, California, where a police precinct is under siege by a gang of criminals. The precinct is understaffed and the only personnel on duty are a few officers, a secretary, and a dispatcher.
The criminals, led by a mysterious figure named Bishop (Joston), arrive at the precinct with the intent of killing the officers and taking the precinct’s weaponry. The officers are able to hold them off for a while, but eventually the criminals break in and take control of the building.
The officers and secretary are taken hostage and Bishop demands the release of a prisoner who is being held in the precinct’s jail. The officers are able to negotiate a deal with Bishop, and the prisoner is released in exchange for the hostages.
However, Bishop has no intention of honoring the deal and plans to kill the officers and the secretary. The officers, with the help of the dispatcher, are able to organize a counterattack against Bishop and his gang.
In the ensuing shootout, the officers are able to defeat the criminals and regain control of the precinct. Bishop is killed in the battle and the officers are hailed as heroes. The movie ends with the officers and secretary celebrating their victory.
