Synopsis/Plot
Arthur Christmas is a 2011 British-American 3D computer-animated Christmas comedy film produced by Aardman Animations and Sony Pictures Animation. It was directed by Sarah Smith and co-directed by Barry Cook. The film stars the voices of James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton, and Ashley Jensen.
The film tells the story of Santa’s clumsy son Arthur, who discovers that his father has a long-standing tradition of using a high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole to deliver presents to every child in the world. The film follows Arthur’s quest to find a lost present before Christmas morning.
The film opens with a narration by Grandsanta, Santa’s father, who explains how Santa has been delivering presents for hundreds of years with the help of his elves and a high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. However, when he passes the job on to his son Steve, things don’t go as planned. Steve’s technological approach to present-delivering fails to deliver a single present to a little girl in Cornwall, England.
Arthur, Steve’s younger brother, decides to take matters into his own
