Synopsis – What to Expect from “Armed and Dangerous”
Armed and Dangerous is a 1986 American action comedy film starring John Candy, Eugene Levy, Robert Loggia, and Meg Ryan. The film follows two bumbling security guards, Frank Dooley (Candy) and Norman Kane (Levy), who are fired from their jobs after an incident involving a malfunctioning alarm system.
Desperate for work, the two men decide to become security guards for the Union Allied Construction company, where they are tasked with protecting a valuable shipment of gold. However, they soon discover that the company is a front for a mob-run protection racket and they are expected to take part in their criminal activities. Refusing to take part, Frank and Norman are instead framed for the theft of the gold and are pursued by the mob and the police.
With the help of their friend, a former cop named Murray (Loggia), they set out to clear their names and retrieve the gold. Along the way, they enlist the help of a young runaway named Kate (Ryan) and get caught up in a series of wild adventures. In the end, they must rely on their wits and courage to outwit the mob and save the day.
