Synopsis – What to Expect from “Arabesque”
Arabesque is a 1966 romantic comedy-mystery film starring Gregory Peck and Sophia Loren. The film follows Professor David Pollock (Gregory Peck), an American professor of archaeology, as he is approached by a mysterious woman (Sophia Loren) who is trying to decipher a coded message. In exchange for his help, she offers him a large sum of money.
When Pollock agrees, he finds himself in the middle of a dangerous plot involving a powerful industrialist, a high-tech computer, and a priceless archaeological artifact. With the help of his friend, the British intelligence agent Alan Colby (Alan Badel), Pollock must decipher the coded message and save the day.
The film follows Pollock and Colby as they travel around the world in search of clues, encountering danger and romance along the way. They are pursued by the industrialist’s henchmen, and must use their wits to stay one step ahead of them.
The film culminates in a thrilling climax in which Pollock and Colby must break into a heavily guarded laboratory to retrieve the artifact.
