Synopsis – What to Expect from “…And Justice for All”
…And Justice for All is a 1979 American courtroom drama film directed by Norman Jewison and starring Al Pacino, Jack Warden, John Forsythe, Lee Strasberg, and Jeffrey Tambor.
The film follows the story of Arthur Kirkland (Al Pacino), an idealistic lawyer who is dedicated to defending the innocent no matter what. After taking on a case in which a judge has been accused of taking a bribe, Arthur soon finds himself in a difficult situation as he is forced to defend his own mentor, Judge Rayford (John Forsythe), who is accused of rape.
Arthur attempts to defend Rayford, but he is met with opposition from his own colleagues at the firm, who are more interested in protecting their own reputations than in doing what is right. Despite this, Arthur continues to fight for justice, even if it means putting his own career at risk.
The film follows Arthur as he attempts to navigate the complex legal system while attempting to prove his client’s innocence. Along the way, he discovers that justice is not always served in the courtroom, and that there are powerful people who are willing to do anything to keep their own secrets hidden.
The film culminates in a dramatic courtroom showdown, as Arthur must find a way to prove his client’s innocence and expose the truth. In the end, the truth is revealed and justice is served, but at a great cost to Arthur’s career.
