Synopsis/Plot
American Outlaws is a 2001 Western action-adventure film directed by Les Mayfield and starring Colin Farrell, Scott Caan, and Ali Larter. The film follows a group of young outlaws in the American West during the late 19th century. Led by Jesse James (Farrell), the gang embarks on a series of daring robberies and heists, while also battling the corrupt railroad baron, Thaddeus Rains (Timothy Dalton).
The film opens with Jesse and his brother Frank (Caan) as they join the Confederate army during the Civil War. After the war, they return to their home in Missouri, only to find that the railroad baron, Rains, has been exploiting the locals and forcing them to sell their land. Jesse and Frank vow to fight back, and soon gather a ragtag group of outlaws to help them.
The gang, which includes Cole Younger (Will McCormack), Bob Younger (Gabriel Macht), and Clell Miller (Gregory Smith), embarks on a series of daring robberies and heists, stealing from the railroad and other wealthy targets. As they become more successful, they attract the attention of the law, and soon find themselves pursued
