Synopsis – What to Expect from “American Gothic”
American Gothic is a 1987 horror film directed by John Hough and starring Rod Steiger, Yvonne De Carlo, and Michael J. Pollard. The story follows the story of a small town in South Carolina, where a mysterious stranger, Caleb (Steiger), arrives and quickly takes control of the town. He claims to be a spiritual leader, and soon he has the entire town believing his words.
The townspeople become fanatically devoted to Caleb, and his power over them begins to grow. Soon, Caleb begins to use his influence to manipulate the town’s inhabitants, and his dark secrets begin to emerge. It becomes clear that Caleb is not what he seems, and that he is in fact a centuries-old vampire.
The town becomes a battleground between good and evil, with the vampire Caleb pitted against the townspeople and the local sheriff (Pollard). As the town is slowly transformed into a living nightmare, the sheriff and the townspeople must find a way to stop Caleb and his evil plans.
The movie follows the townspeople as they battle to save their town from the vampire Caleb. The film is filled with suspense, horror, and thrills, as the townspeople must find a way to stop Caleb before it’s too late.
