Synopsis – What to Expect from “Alpha House”
Alpha House is a 2014 political comedy-drama film directed by George Clooney and starring John Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy, and Mark Consuelos. The film follows four Republican senators living together in a rented house on Capitol Hill.
The film begins with Senator Robert Bettencourt (John Goodman) and Senator Louis Laffer (Clark Johnson) arriving at the Alpha House, their shared residence in Washington, D.C. Bettencourt is a veteran senator from Pennsylvania, while Laffer is a freshman senator from Nevada. The two men are soon joined by Senator Andy Guzman (Matt Malloy) from Florida and Senator Gil John Biggs (Mark Consuelos) from North Carolina. The four men are all members of the same political party, and they form an unlikely alliance while living together.
The four senators soon find themselves in the midst of a heated political battle. Bettencourt and Laffer are on opposite sides of a controversial immigration bill, while Guzman and Biggs are rivals in the upcoming election for the party’s presidential nomination. As the four men navigate their way through the political landscape, they must also manage their personal lives, which includes dealing with their respective families and girlfriends.
Amidst all the chaos, the four men learn to rely on each other for support and friendship. In the end, they come to realize that despite their political differences, they can still be united by their shared commitment to their country. Alpha
