Synopsis/Plot
Along Came a Spider is a 2001 American crime thriller film directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Morgan Freeman, Monica Potter, Michael Wincott, and Dylan Baker. The film follows Detective/Psychologist Alex Cross (Freeman) as he investigates the kidnapping of a young girl from a prestigious private school.
The story begins when a kidnapping occurs at the private school attended by the daughter of Senator Hank Rose. Cross is called in to investigate and discovers that the kidnapper is Gary Soneji (Wincott), a former teacher who has become obsessed with the Senator’s daughter. Cross and Secret Service Agent Jezzie Flannigan (Potter) team up to track down Soneji and rescue the girl.
Cross and Flannigan soon discover that Soneji is part of a larger conspiracy involving a group of international criminals led by a mysterious figure known only as “The Tiger” (Baker). Cross and Flannigan must race against time to save the girl and foil the Tiger’s plans. Along the way, Cross must confront his own demons as he struggles to make sense of the case and his own troubled past.
