Almost Christmas is a 2016 American holiday comedy-drama film directed by David E. Talbert and starring Danny Glover, Gabrielle Union, Kimberly Elise, Mo’Nique, JB Smoove, Omar Epps, Romany Malco, Nicole Ari Parker, Jessie T. Usher, and John Michael Higgins.
The film follows the story of the Meyers family as they come together for the first time in four years for a holiday celebration. Patriarch Walter Meyers (Danny Glover) is a widower and retired auto worker who is struggling to keep his large family together in the wake of his wife’s death. His four grown children, Cheryl (Gabrielle Union), Rachel (Kimberly Elise), Christian (Romany Malco), and Evan (Omar Epps), have all come home for the holiday season, each bringing their own unique set of issues to the table.
Cheryl is a successful businesswoman who is struggling to balance her career and family life. Rachel is a single mother trying to make ends meet. Christian is a struggling musician who has been living in his car. And Evan is a doctor who is dealing with the aftermath of a failed marriage.
