Synopsis – What to Expect from “All the Right Moves”
All the Right Moves is a 1983 American sports drama film starring Tom Cruise, Lea Thompson, and Craig T. Nelson. The film follows a high school football player, Stef (Tom Cruise), and his coach, Nickerson (Craig T. Nelson), as they fight to get Stef a college scholarship.
Stef is a senior at Ampipe High School in Ampipe, Pennsylvania, and the star of the football team. He’s a talented player, but his grades are suffering, and he’s struggling to get a college scholarship. His coach, Nickerson, is determined to help him.
Nickerson arranges for Stef to take a college entrance exam, and Stef passes it with flying colors. However, Nickerson discovers that the college won’t accept Stef without a recommendation from the principal. The principal refuses to write the recommendation, claiming that Stef’s grades aren’t good enough.
Nickerson and Stef devise a plan to get the principal to change his mind. They plan a football game between Ampipe and a rival school, and Stef will prove his worth by leading Ampipe to victory.
The plan works, and Stef leads Ampipe to victory. The principal is so impressed that he writes the recommendation, and Stef is accepted into college.
However, the victory comes at a price. Stef’s girlfriend, Lisa (Lea Thompson), is pregnant, and the father is Stef
