Synopsis/Plot
All Eyez on Me is the 2017 biographical drama film about the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur. Directed by Benny Boom and written by Jeremy Haft, Eddie Gonzalez, and Steven Bagatourian, the film follows the life of the iconic rapper, actor, poet, and activist, from his early days in New York City to his rise to fame in the 1990s.
The film stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac, Danai Gurira as his mother Afeni Shakur, and Kat Graham as his close friend Jada Pinkett Smith. It also features Jamal Woolard as Notorious B.I.G., Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight, and Lauren Cohan as Leila Steinberg.
The story begins with Tupac’s childhood in New York City, where he was raised by a single mother, Afeni Shakur. Tupac quickly rose to prominence as an artist and activist, and his music and lyrics spoke to the struggles of African-Americans. As his fame grew, he found himself embroiled in a rivalry between East Coast and West Coast rappers, culminating in the tragic shooting of his friend Notorious B.I.G.
