Synopsis – What to Expect from “Alice”
Alice is a 1990 fantasy-adventure film directed by Woody Allen. The film follows Alice Tate (Mia Farrow), a wealthy New York housewife, who is discontented with her life and finds herself in an alternate reality.
Alice is visited by her best friend, Dr. Yang (Keye Luke), who tells her about a dream he had in which Alice finds a magical world in a mirror. Intrigued, Alice follows the instructions in the dream and steps through the mirror, entering a strange and surreal world.
Alice is greeted by the White Rabbit (William Hickey), who leads her to the Mad Hatter’s (William Hurt) tea party. There, Alice meets the Cheshire Cat (Robin Williams), the Caterpillar (Joe Mantegna), and the March Hare (Alec Baldwin). She also meets the Queen of Hearts (Judy Davis), who is the ruler of this alternate world.
Alice is taken on a wild journey by the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, and the Caterpillar. She meets a variety of characters, including the Mock Turtle (Fisher Stevens), the Dormouse (Geena Davis), and the Jabberwocky (Jeff Goldblum). Along the way, Alice learns valuable lessons about life and discovers her true self.
Alice eventually finds her way back to the real world, where she realizes that she must take control of her own life and make her own decisions
