Synopsis – What to Expect from “Alice, Sweet Alice”
Alice, Sweet Alice is a 1976 horror-thriller film directed by Alfred Sole. The movie follows the story of Alice and Karen Spages, two young sisters living in a working-class neighborhood in New Jersey. On the day of Karen’s first communion, Alice is jealous of all the attention her younger sister is receiving and is determined to make her own mark.
The ceremony is disrupted when Karen is brutally murdered in the church by an unidentified figure wearing a yellow raincoat and a grotesque mask. The police investigate the murder and focus their attention on Alice, who had a reputation for being a troublemaker and is the prime suspect.
Alice’s family, including her aunt Annie, stand by her throughout the investigation, but Alice is increasingly isolated and desperate to prove her innocence. After the police fail to find any evidence that would incriminate Alice, the family begins to suspect Annie, who had a strained relationship with Alice.
Alice and her family are eventually able to prove Annie’s guilt, and the real murderer is brought to justice. The movie ends with Alice finally being able to move on from the tragedy and start a new life.
Alice, Sweet Alice is a gripping horror-thriller that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The film is filled with suspense and mystery as Alice attempts to prove her innocence and uncover the true identity of the murderer. The movie also explores themes of family, faith, and justice.
