Synopsis/Plot
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa is a 2013 British comedy film starring Steve Coogan as the titular character, Alan Partridge. It follows Partridge’s attempts to resolve a potentially violent siege at North Norfolk Digital, a radio station where he works as a DJ.
The film begins with Alan’s life seemingly in a rut. He is stuck in a dead-end job, has a strained relationship with his daughter, and is in the midst of a divorce. When Pat Farrell (Colm Meaney), a fellow DJ at North Norfolk Digital, is fired, he takes the station hostage in a bid to get his job back. Alan is sent in as a negotiator, and soon finds himself caught in the middle of the increasingly chaotic situation.
As the siege progresses, Alan finds himself becoming a reluctant hero, as his efforts to resolve the situation bring him into conflict with the police, the media, and the station’s management. With the help of his long-suffering assistant Lynn (Felicity Montagu), Alan attempts to find a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
