Akron is a 2015 American romantic drama film directed by Sasha King and Brian O’Donnell.
The film follows two young men, Benny (Matthew Frias) and Christopher (John Karna), who are best friends and college freshmen at the University of Akron. Benny and Christopher come from different backgrounds, but share a strong bond and a deep friendship.
Benny is a young man from a working-class background who is struggling to find his place in the world. He is a talented soccer player, but his family is unable to afford the tuition for college. Christopher is from a more affluent background and is a gifted student who has already been accepted into a prestigious college.
Despite their differences, Benny and Christopher become close friends and their friendship quickly blossoms into a romantic relationship. As the two explore their newfound relationship, they also must face the challenges of coming out to their families and dealing with the reactions of those around them.
Throughout the film, Benny and Christopher must confront the prejudices of their families and society in order to be together. As they navigate their relationship, they must also overcome the obstacles of their own insecurities and doubts.
The film is a heartfelt and moving story of friendship and love, and ultimately a story of hope and acceptance.
