Synopsis/Plot
A River Runs Through It is a 1992 American drama film directed by Robert Redford and starring Brad Pitt, Craig Sheffer, Tom Skerritt, Brenda Blethyn, and Emily Lloyd. The film tells the story of two sons of a Presbyterian minister—Norman (Pitt) and Paul (Sheffer)—growing up in rural Montana in the early 20th century and how their love of fly-fishing brings them together and apart.
The movie follows the two brothers as they grow up in a small Montana town. The boys, Norman and Paul, are very different. Norman is the responsible, disciplined one while Paul is the rebellious, wild one. Despite their differences, the two brothers share a passion for fly fishing. The film follows the brothers as they grow from boys to men, and their love of fishing brings them together and eventually tears them apart.
