Synopsis/Plot
A Most Wanted Man is a 2014 British-German spy thriller film based on the novel of the same name by John le Carré. The film stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright, Grigoriy Dobrygin, and Daniel Brühl.
The story follows a Chechen Muslim immigrant who illegally enters Hamburg, Germany, in search of his father’s fortune. He is tracked by a German intelligence officer, Günther Bachmann, who is determined to find out if the immigrant is a victim of persecution or a terrorist.
The film follows Bachmann and his team as they attempt to uncover the truth about the immigrant’s identity and his connections to an Islamic extremist group. As they get closer to the truth, they must battle the bureaucracy of the German intelligence agency and the US government, who have their own agenda.
