Synopsis/Plot
A Clockwork Orange is a 1971 dystopian crime film directed, produced, and written by Stanley Kubrick. The film follows the life of Alex DeLarge, a charismatic and psychopathic delinquent whose pleasures are classical music, rape, and ultra-violence. After he and his gang commit a series of violent crimes, Alex is arrested and sent to prison. He then undergoes an experimental treatment intended to cure him of his violent tendencies.
The film is set in a future Britain where teenage gangs roam the streets committing acts of violence and vandalism. Alex and his “droogs” are no exception, engaging in random acts of violence and vandalism for their own pleasure. After one particularly heinous crime, Alex is caught and sentenced to 14 years in prison.
