Synopsis/Plot
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a 1973 animated television special based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. It features the Peanuts gang celebrating Thanksgiving.
The special begins with Charlie Brown feeling depressed because he has to miss out on the traditional Thanksgiving activities due to his obligations to his friends. He is surprised when Peppermint Patty invites him and the gang over to her house for Thanksgiving dinner.
When Charlie Brown arrives at Peppermint Patty’s house, he discovers that she has invited Snoopy and Woodstock to join the dinner. Peppermint Patty has also invited two of her friends, Franklin and Marcie, to join the dinner.
Charlie Brown is dismayed at the lack of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. He is further dismayed when he learns that Snoopy and Woodstock are going to cook the dinner. However, the meal turns out to be surprisingly good.
The gang then plays a game of football, with Peppermint Patty’s team winning. After the game, Charlie Brown is touched when Peppermint Patty gives him a hug and thanks him for coming.
At the end of the special, the gang gathers around a table and gives thanks for all the good things in their lives.
