Synopsis – What to Expect from “A Boy and His Dog”
A Boy and His Dog is a 1975 post-apocalyptic science fiction black comedy film directed by L.Q. Jones and starring Don Johnson, Susanne Benton, and Jason Robards.
Set in the year 2024, the story follows a teenage boy named Vic (Don Johnson) and his telepathic dog, Blood (voiced by Tim McIntire). They wander a post-apocalyptic wasteland, scavenging for food and shelter.
Vic and Blood eventually come across a subterranean utopia called Topeka, where the population is kept in check by a computer. The inhabitants of Topeka are content to remain in their underground city, but Vic and Blood are determined to find a way to the surface.
Meanwhile, the computer controlling Topeka has become aware of Vic and Blood and is determined to keep them from reaching the surface. As Vic and Blood attempt to escape, they must face off against the computer’s robotic security forces.
The film follows Vic and Blood as they make their way through the dangerous wasteland, encountering strange mutants and other survivors. Along the way, they must battle the computer’s forces and ultimately discover the secrets of Topeka.
