Synopsis – What to Expect from “3 Women”
3 Women is a 1977 American drama film written and directed by Robert Altman. It tells the story of two women, Millie Lammoreaux (Shelley Duvall) and Pinky Rose (Sissy Spacek), who develop an unusual bond after arriving at a California spa.
The movie opens with Millie and Pinky arriving at a spa in the California desert. Millie is a quiet, shy, and introverted woman who works as a receptionist at the spa, while Pinky is an outgoing and vivacious young woman who works as a waitress. The two become close friends and begin to share their lives with one another.
One day, Millie introduces Pinky to her roommate, Willie Hart (Janice Rule), an eccentric, middle-aged woman who has been living at the spa for some time. Willie takes an immediate liking to Pinky, and the two become fast friends.
As the movie progresses, Pinky and Millie’s relationship begins to change. Pinky takes on a more dominant role in their friendship, while Millie begins to feel neglected and isolated. At the same time, Willie’s influence over Pinky grows and she becomes increasingly dependent on her.
