Synopsis/Plot
2036: Nexus Dawn is a science fiction short film set in the world of Blade Runner 2049. It follows the story of Niander Wallace (Jared Leto), a powerful industrialist who has created a new line of replicants, the Nexus 9. Wallace has come before a council of government officials to demonstrate the safety and obedience of his new line of replicants and to gain approval for their mass production. He is met with skepticism from the council, as the last line of replicants, the Nexus 8, had caused chaos and destruction. Wallace must prove that his new line of replicants are different and safe. The council is not easily swayed and Wallace must use all of his persuasive powers to convince them that his replicants are not a threat. With the help of his assistant, Luv (Sylvia Hoeks), Wallace must demonstrate the obedience and loyalty of his replicants and prove that they can be trusted. The fate of the replicants and the future of the world hangs in the balance. 2036: Nexus Dawn is an exciting and suspenseful short film that serves as a prequel to the upcoming Blade Runner 2049.
