Synopsis – What to Expect from “2001 Maniacs”
2001 Maniacs is a 2005 American horror comedy film directed by Tim Sullivan and starring Robert Englund, Giuseppe Andrews, Lin Shaye, and Giuseppe Andrews. The film follows a group of college students who take a wrong turn on their way to Spring Break and end up in the small town of Pleasant Valley, Georgia.
The town is populated by a group of Confederate veterans known as the “2001 Maniacs” who have a sinister plan for the students. Upon their arrival, the students are welcomed with a festival by the townspeople and are given free food and lodging. But their hospitality soon turns to horror when they realize that the townspeople have a sinister plan for them.
The students soon discover that the townspeople are actually the ghosts of Confederate soldiers who were killed in the Civil War. The townspeople have a plan to sacrifice the students to their god, General Sherman, and bring back the Confederacy to life. The students must find a way to escape the town and its maniacal inhabitants before it’s too late.
The students must fight for their lives as they are pursued by the maniacal townspeople and their leader, General Sherman. With the help of a mysterious man known as “The Stranger,” the students must find a way to escape the town and its maniacal inhabitants before it’s too late.
