Synopsis – What to Expect from “200 Cigarettes”
200 Cigarettes is a 1999 romantic comedy set in New York City on New Year’s Eve 1981. The movie follows the journey of a group of twenty-something friends as they search for a party to attend, each with their own individual agendas.
The movie starts with Monica, played by Martha Plimpton, who is trying to throw the perfect New Year’s Eve party. She’s determined to make it the best night of her life, but her plans are complicated by her ex-boyfriend, Jimmy, played by Dave Chappelle. He’s determined to win her back, and he’s not the only one with his eye on Monica.
At the same time, Monica’s friend, Lucy, played by Courtney Love, is trying to find the perfect guy to take to the party. She’s looking for a guy who will make her look good, and she’s determined to find him no matter what.
Meanwhile, Monica’s other friend, Steph, played by Kate Hudson, is trying to find a guy to take to the party as well. She’s determined to find someone who will make her look cool and desirable.
The movie follows the group of friends as they search for the perfect party and the perfect guy.
