Synopsis – What to Expect from “2 Days in New York”
2 Days in New York is a 2012 French-American romantic comedy film directed, co-written, and co-produced by Julie Delpy. The film stars Delpy, Chris Rock, Albert Delpy, Alexia Landeau, and Dylan Baker.
The film follows Marion (Julie Delpy), an American living in New York City with her son, her French photographer boyfriend, and her eccentric family. When her family, including her sister, her father, and her father’s new girlfriend, come to visit from France, Marion’s already hectic life is thrown into chaos.
The story begins with Marion and her boyfriend, Mingus (Chris Rock), living in New York City with their young son, Lulu. Marion is a French expat and Mingus is an American journalist. As they try to balance their lives, Marion’s family arrives from France for a visit. Her father, Jeannot (Albert Delpy), is accompanied by his new girlfriend, Manu (Alexia Landeau).
Marion and Mingus try to keep their lives in order while accommodating her family, but it quickly becomes apparent that the visit is not going to be easy. Jeannot and Manu have their own ideas about how things should be done, and they clash with Marion’s and Mingus’ lifestyles.
The visit is further complicated by the arrival of Marion’s sister Rose (Dylan Baker), who brings her own brand of chaos.
