Black Friday deals have been a tradition for as far back as I can remember. It is a time to get some of the best deals on things and start the holiday shopping season. This year we are seeing Black Friday becoming Black Friday Week and some great pricing on mobile phones.
Amazon was running their 1 cent sale recently, which has expired and this week they are running Black Friday sales, which is more than just one day. Their 1 cent sale sale generated a lot of traffic to the site and a lot of people purchasing phones. With this week, another round of sales has come from Amazon and should be looked at. If you are shopping for a Windows Phone 7, now is the time to get one at some great prices. Prices may vary depending on where you live, but in California, you can get these AT&T and T-Mobile Windows Phone 7 through the Amazon Wireless store as existing carrier customer.
- LG Quantum – $49.99 (AT&T)
- Samsung Focus – $49.99 (AT&T)
- HTC HD7 – $49.99 (T-Mobile)
These are some great prices on the new Windows Phone 7 and worth taking a look at. WireFly has a sale running right now on the AT&T LG Quantum phone to $1.00 for new customers and $49.99 for existing AT&T customers. That is a significant deal for new customers and has about 10 hours left on the sale clock.
The AT&T Windows Phone 7 have been going for $179.99 to $199.99 as a regular price, so these deals are a deep discount on the phones with a requirement of a 2 year contract. Since the initial launch of the phones and some reported shortages, this is an opportunity for Microsoft to grab market share. We have not seen all of the Black Friday ads yet and can expect to see more offerings for the Windows Phone 7. The prices are probably not going to get any better than this, though there may be an expansion as to the number of phones on sale at that price.
A new sale day, Cyber Monday, has come in recent years for the online sales after Black Friday and presents another opportunity to purchase the Windows Phone of your choice.
While Verizon does not currently have the Windows Phone 7, it does appear they will have it before Christmas. Given the sales that are going on right now, they may have missed the opportunity to lock in subscribers as AT&T is doing. There are reports that Verizon is offering the Windows Phone 7 to Microsoft employees right now with later shipping.
These kinds of prices do not come along very often, so if you are considering a Windows Phone 7, now is the time to purchase one.Patrick Gassert
